five Keys to Success Summer School
With no high school classes can have several negative consequences. Students who fail can now be left behind in credits required for graduation and continue their education at four-year university can be in danger. If a class fails, the student must figure out now how they will retake the class. The three most popular option is to retake the class in summer school, repeating the class for next school year as one of their class period, or take classes through concurrent enrollment as a part-time students online.
Of the three choices, repeated through the summer school classes are often the most popular choice. While the summer lasted less than a traditional week of the semester, students will only take 1-2 classes in the summer and met with each class for two hours a day. This time again in the classroom, students have more time to work in small groups for guided practice and get more direct help from teachers. Also take a 1-2 classroom, students can submit their time directly to those most in need of attention. Summer school also allows students to credit needed to get as prevention from getting back into the program. This is seen in classes like math, where students must successfully Algebra I before they can move into Geometry.
I have been teaching in summer school a few times during my teaching career and have seen what characteristics lead to greater success in these classes. Here are five keys to help you gain success in summer school.
Key # 1: Spend some time each day. Each week during the summer school covers about three weeks worth of course material. Therefore, missing more than one or two days during the summer, a place so far behind that you are not able to catch up.
Key # 2: Come prepared. It is important that you bring materials to class every day for the same reason that you need to show every day. The material is so quick, so easy to find quickly closed. If the work must be submitted for credit, and you should have with you. Teachers can not find a job that has not changed in.
Key # 3: Do your work during class and at home. The main reason many students fail high school classes is that they are not doing their job. You may be the command to complete a summer school each day. That way, business at the end of the summer you will not regret most of your summer in the class that you failed a second time.
Key # 4: Write command. Many students who have been so many things through their heads that when they sit down to do their homework, they all need to forget. I always recommend that students write homework first thing when they walk into the classroom. If students have (iPhone, Blackberry, etc.) Smartphone I tell them an application that allows them to “do” list to keep track of what tasks must be run to download.
Key # 5: Give your assignment. Your class is determined by the number of points. The more points you earn a high level, you will. It’s that simple.
Summer Loss Education
Research shows that most children learn about the loss of their summer vacation. This varies by grade, subject and the child’s family.
To compensate for the loss of education, the first month of classes is usually a summary of the last class is finished, and most children quickly pick up where they left off, but for others it may be difficult. However, research shows that children who continue reading during the summer months, in fact, the skills and take your child to the library on a regular basis can be very helpful. In addition, a review of your child’s last report or reports to help determine areas to focus on summer learning.
Encourage your child to read a magazine subscription for the kids or reading the same book with them and part of the analysis of the day. Sign up for summer camps, reading programs the library, or community education classes through their local school system. You can also choose books, educational videos and computer games at a local library book store, or shop for teachers. Teach scrapbooking, diaries, or even stop to help balance your checkbook.
Parents should also be aware that children have free time during the summer to relax and enjoy yourself for fun summer reading to keep. Remember that with a little creativity, even seemingly routine of everyday life turned into a fun learning experience.
